The Biosphere Reserve is a propose category of handling in 1974 by a work group of the program on the Man and Biosfera (MAB) of UNESCO, with the aim of integrating the actions of the human being for the preservation of the biological and cultural diversity through sustainable use of the resources, obtaining a balance between the promotion of the economic development and the conservation of the natural resources and local cultural values.
