Wounded Warriors Charity Profile
We as a Nation currently have thousands of Wounded and Injured men and women returning from the Battlefield, hundreds are at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C. and the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, MD. They are receiving the best Medical Care possible, however the endless hours of treatment and rehabilitation take a toll on these returning Soldiers in an untold amount of mental stress related to their new found physical limitations.
We as Korean War Veterans are creating a fund to provide much needed services for these warriors. When we returned from war we had hoped for the same support these young warriors are searching for today. It is our intention to work and coordinate with the Chaplin's Helping Hands, The Wounded Warrior Grant Program, The Soldier & Family Assistance Center, The Walter Reed Army Medical Center and The National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, MD, to provide some of these much needed services.
Quotation, "The American Public needs to see the challenges, success and dedication of the people working behind the scenes to make things right for injured and ill Soldiers and their Families." Army Secretary Pete M. Geren, Lansdowne, Virginia, Oct. 2007.
The Korean War Veterans Wounded Warrior Fund contributes behind the scenes to improve the comfort and morale of the Warriors and their Families. Through the Chaplain's Helping Hands Fund we can provide meals, lodging, transportation and comfort to the Warriors and their Families. The Chaplin's Wounded Warrior Grant Program provides grants of $25,000.00 and greater. They received NO appropriated monies from the Government. They depend on the generosity of you and me, along with patriotic corporations.
We want our efforts to be continuous and to provide these much needed services on an ongoing basis. It is our hope to at a minimum provide books, music, hand held games, movies, Metro Passes for the soldier's family as well as meal passes and rooms where the family can stay.
We ask that you give from your heart in providing them with the knowledge that they are not forgotten in their time of need.
