Jewish Federation of Eastern Connecticut Charity Profile
The Jewish Federation of Eastern Connecticut is a not-for-profit 510(c)(3) corporation that supports humanitarian, social service and educational efforts in Eastern Connecticut, in Israel and around the world. Locally, we provide direct services to seniors, adults and youth through a variety of programs and activities.
The Jewish Federation supports a variety of organizations through grants and annual allocations. It is the principal address for inter-group and interfaith relations in the region. Every year the Federation organizes educational and interfaith missions to Israel and brings speakers from Israel to address the community. The Federation is the primary link between the State of Israel and the people of Eastern Connecticut.
The Jewish Federation, as part of its educational efforts, works with public and parochial schools to promote the study of the Holocaust and the importance of taking individual responsibility for one's actions.

Jewish Federation of Eastern Connecticut Volunteer Information
What could be better than helping a young child learn to read by participating in our READ ALOUD program at New London’s Jennings, Nathan Hale, and Harbor Schools, Groton’s Pleasant Valley School, or Norwich’s Huntington School.
We ask for one hour, once a week, to tutor one to two children in grades 1-3. The Eastern Connecticut Jewish Coalition for Literacy, sponsored by the JFEC will provide a multi-media training program, training manual, supplies, supervision and books. You provide the dedication and caring to help children who struggle with basic reading. You can pick the day of the week and the hour you wish to volunteer. We will work with the schools to find a child to work with you.
