Andino International, Inc. Charity Profile
Andino International is a nonprofit charitable organization which partners with local communities and other organizations to renovate or build new schools and supply educational materials to existing schools in some of the world's most impoverished communities throughout Latin America. Andino International, Inc. is an United States tax deductible, IRS registered 501(c)3 non-religious charitable organization.
Our mission is to alleviate poverty by providing educational opportunities to children who are not being educated and to promote awareness of the growing abandonment of street children worldwide. Our primary schools are built in extremely impoverished urban communities where school structures don’t exist or are dilapidated, and lacking basic necessities. We find communities where children are not going to school and do not have educational alternatives. Children not going to school; this is what we care about, this is what we seek to change. At the heart of our mission is community ownership of projects. We form partnerships with individuals, other organizations and community groups, where our support provides them with the means to positively impact a larger number of people and create tangible, sustainable community benefit.100% of all donations are used to fund educational focused developmental projects through partnerships with communities and other organizations working in developing nations to combat poverty.

If you haven’t been to a developing nation then it’s often hard to visualize extreme poverty and children living on the street, or working on the street and sleeping under a tarp or in a rock hovel at night with their siblings. These aren’t all orphaned children. Their parents simply have nothing to offer them. Normally the families will be uneducated and illiterate and in a lot of cases they don’t ask for anything for themselves but they want more for their children. What they really want is opportunity for them and by that they mean education.
We provide these children with a primary education. Taking children off the street and putting them into a classroom, with a local educated, certified teacher. They get a lunch everyday helping them to maintain healthy, so that they can learn to read and write. In supporting their child’s education, we are really helping the community pull itself out of poverty.
If this program was not available for these children there would be little chance that they would be able to get into any type of schooling. Education is empowerment and it is the one thing we can leave behind for children today and we know that it is sustainable and we know that it has long lasting effects.
