WPKN is a refuge. Radio produced in real time by real people – community volunteers.
It is free from the litter of advertising that numbs us. It is free to provide a range of music and opinions that can stimulate us.And when we listen to public radio, the informational ads of underwriters are omnipresent. But it continues to be almost impossible to find interesting new music.We live in a time when funding through advertising has become a ubiquitous business model – even for public or educational institutions.
