Wow Children's Museum World Of Wonder, Ltd. Charity Profile
WOW!-Children’s Museum (World of Wonder) is a 501C-3 non-profit Museum based in Lafayette, Colorado. We opened November 29, 1996, and became a non-profit corporation in July 1997 enabling us to expand our services to the community by providing more educational classes, workshops and exhibits sponsored by individuals, foundations and corporations. Now 11 years old, we host over 60,000 visitors annually. Our market ranges widely from Colorado Springs to Fort Collins, and from Evergreen to towns east of Greeley, indicating the need for educationally-oriented centers for families and schools to visit. We were proudly listed for the past four years in the Best of Boulder as a preferred place for families to take children. WOW! was ranked by Child Magazine in February 2002 as one of the top 50 children’s museums in the country. We have received financial support from the Scientific and Cultural Facilities District (SCFD), as well as an award for general operating support and recently one for science exhibits from the Institute for Museum & Library Services (IMLS).
Our Museum includes educational and dramatic play exhibits geared for children ages 1-11 years in an 8,000 square foot area. Art displays, Arts & crafts, music, dance, theater, wind energy, air & gravity exhibits, dinosaurs, a pirate ship & lighthouse, trains, play house, grocery store, credit union, sand castle, build-it-yourself house, bubbles, ball maze and a reading area are regular exhibits; this year we have installed another permanent exhibit on Light and Shadows. All day admission, free adults and a bring your own snack area all make our Museum family and group friendly.
Our board of directors has been very active each year, raising money to bring new exhibits and planning for an exciting future. Our wonderful staff is always ready to make sure you and your children spend quality time together, in a safe, educational, and entertaining atmosphere.

WOW! Children's Museum needs volunteers to help with fundraising, grant writing, face painting, preparing for parties, maintain and repair exhibits, sewing costumes, graphic design, story telling, puppet shows, mailings, and special events.
