Early Music Colorado Charity Profile
EMC is a nonprofit 501c3 organization, formed in 1994, based in Boulder, Colorado, and receives no government funding. EMC is an entirely volunteer organization with no paid administrative staff. EMC is primarily supported by the generosity of individual donors, donations of board members, and grants.
The purpose of this organization shall be to promote the performance and appreciation of early music in the state of Colorado, and in furthering scholarship, education, and awareness of appropriate styles and performance practices for this genre of music.
EMC presents or co-sponsors early (18th C. and before) music recitals of a quality and authenticity rarely heard through other Colorado presenters. Master classes and workshops are organized, where local musicians learn from the professionals. EMC sponsors educational outreach projects, placing local early music ensembles in grade schools for demonstration/performances on period instruments in period costumes, performing works medieval to modern. EMC maintains a free community service website with the early music event calendar, and the early music artist and teacher rosters.
