CIWABA Charity Profile

CIWABA (Computer, Internet and Web Awareness for a Better Africa) was founded by Ferdinand Che. April 1st, 2009 is considered the birthday of CIWABA because it was on this date that the organization finally obtained legal status by registering with the Cameroon Government.

CIWABA is a non-governmental non-profit organization that aims at improving on the life of every reachable and interested African through sensitization and education on the use (or proper use) of computers, internet and the World Wide Web. Located in Cameroon, with three offices and headquarters in Buea, the South West Region, this organization’s mission is to improve computer, internet and web literacy in Africa and teaching Africans how to properly utilize knowledge gained through training workshops, seminars, sensitization campaigns and computer training centers, for better communication, education and web security. CIWABA’s beneficiaries are expected to be computer, internet and web literates who can create jobs for themselves by starting a business for themselves or gaining employment in a computer, internet or web related business or company for which they were initially not qualified or capable.

CIWABA Volunteer Information

CIWABA's success is thanks to kind hearted well wishers, both home and abroad, who have sacrificed their invaluable time and skills to see that the organization progresses towards its goals. Most of our volunteers include IT Professionals, Basic and Expert Computer users, teachers, secretaries and administrators. Anyone who has even the least idea about computers, networking, software, hardware, teaching or administration, is very valuable to us and will make a good volunteer.

CIWABA Donation Information

Though CIWABA is currently not receiving enough funding to meet up with her objectives, she is continuously working hard and realizing more and more projects. Funds received in the past have been used to install several computer training centers and donate computers to needy individuals, groups and institutions.

Every penny received in the form of donation is highly appreciated. Every $1.00 can create a big impact on CIWABA and a change on the lives of its beneficiaries.
