High Desert Chapter (American Red Cross) Charity Profile
The High Desert Chapter of the American Red Cross was chartered on July 1, 1990. Our administrative offices are located at 16248 Desert Knoll Drive in Victorville, California.
The Chapter provides Red Cross services to High Desert residents and others within the northern and eastern portions of San Bernardino County. A Red Cross station is also located at the Fort Irwin Army National Training Center near Barstow.
Although the American Red Cross is not a government agency, its authority to provide disaster relief was formalized in 1905, when Congress chartered the Red Cross to carry on a system of national and international relief in time of peace and apply that system in mitigating the sufferings caused by pestilence, famine, fire, floods, and other great national calamities, and to devise and carry on measures for preventing those calamities.
High Desert Chapter (American Red Cross) Volunteer Information
The American Red Cross relies on volunteers to help us with our mission of providing care and comfort to those in need.
Every year in the High Desert Chapter, disasters randomly strike families. Homes and possessions are lost and lives are forever changed. While we can not change history, with your help, The American Red Cross can make it a little easier for those who have suffered disasters to get from today to tomorrow.
It takes commitment and training but if you are willing to help, you can be a part of an elite team of Red Cross volunteers trained to respond when disaster strikes or to help people prevent and prepare for disasters. No matter what your profession, experience or expertise, you have skills the Red Cross can use to help those who have been affected by a disaster.
High Desert Chapter (American Red Cross) Donation Information
The American Red Cross is able to help those affected by disasters small and large because of the generosity of the American people. The Red Cross is not a government agency; it relies on voluntary donations of time, money and blood to do its work.
