Women\'s Center of San Joaquin County Charity Profile
The Women\'s Center has been driven by its mission to provide a wide range of supportive, educational and crisis intervention services to victims of domestic violence and sexual assault, enabling them to regain control of their lives. Over 30,000 women, children and men are provided critical support from the women\'s center which has offices in Lodi, Stockton and Tracy in San Joaquin County.
Women\'s Center of San Joaquin County Volunteer Information
The Women\'s Center offer our Victim Assistance Training twice a year. This 67.5 hour training prepares individuals to provide crisis intervention services to our clientle. Opportunities include: providing one-on-one peer counseling, answering the 24-hour help lines, support group facilitation, hospital and court accompaniment, prevention and community outreach/presentations.
Women\'s Center of San Joaquin County Donation Information
The Women\'s Center relies on community support to met the ever increasing requests for services. In 2008/2009 fiscal year, the Center saw a 30% increase in our undisclosed emergency shelter requests from battered women and their children. A nearly 20% increase in demand for Temporary Restraining Orders. For every dollar donated, the Center dedicates 93 cents to provide services to our clients. All services are free and confidential. Access to emergency shelter, hospital accompaniment for rape victims and our help lines are 24/7.
