WISE & Healthy Aging Charity Profile
WISE & Healthy Aging is a multi-service, non-profit organization serving seniors throughout Los Angeles County, with emphasis on low-income and/or underserved individuals. The team at WISE & Healthy Aging works to promote and improve the well-being, independence and self-esteem of seniors, and to prevent premature institutionalization whenever possible.
WISE & Healthy Aging is the result of the November 1, 2007 merger between WISE Senior Services (WISE) and Center For Healthy Aging (CHA). The merger created a pooling of a wealth of expertise and resources that furthers its mission-based activities and expands its services and provides for greater community impact.
WISE & Healthy Aging Volunteer Information
WISE & Healthy Aging offers many types of volunteering opportunities.
Become an IRS-certified tax preparer. Help low?and moderate-income seniors and disabled citizens file their federal and state tax returns.
Be a friend to a resident of a residential care facility or nursing home who is under a conservatorship. Provide companionship and an opportunity for socializing by visiting the resident at least twice monthly. Be alert to signs of abuse or neglect and, if such signs are evident, report it to a Los Angeles Superior Court Probate Investigator.
Ensure good nutrition for those living independently so they can maintain their health and independence. Help serve a nutritious lunch at one of five centers in Santa Monica.

A gift to WISE & Healthy Aging is a gift of security and advocacy to seniors living in Santa Monica and throughout Los Angeles County -- often without the support of friends or nearby family.
