Omega Boys Club Charity Profile

Omega Boys Club's mission is to teach boys and girls and young men and women how to stay alive and free from violence and incarceration and to provide them with opportunity and support to build positive lives for themselves and to move into contributing roles in society. An academic program gives back the education stolen from young people by violence. Programs in county jails and juvenile halls help young people move away from violence and crime. A training program teaches people from nonprofits and government agencies how to use Omega's proven violence prevention methodology -- the Alive & Free Prescription -- in their programs. In 2008 the City of San Franciscso adopted Alive & Free as the overarching philosophy for its five-year violence prevention plan. Omega's annual budget is less than $1.4 million. Nearly $400,000 of that goes toward college scholarships.

Although volunteer opportunities are limited individuals interested in helping are encouraged to contact Omega.

Omega Boys Club Donation Information

Contributions for general support are always welcome. Donations for specific programs, such as the Omega Leadership Academy, Scholarship Fund or Street Soldiers Radio, are also accepted.

Gifts can be made in memory or in honor of an individual, organization or event.

Case bequests are accepted decisions on other planned gifts (real estate, trusts, etc.) are made on a case-by-case basis.
