United Way California Capital Region Charity Profile
United Way California Capital Region’s vision is to build stronger, healthier, more compassionate communities in our region by partnering with local employers and nonprofits to improve people’s lives.
Working with 750 employers in Amador, El Dorado, Placer, Sacramento and Yolo counties, we hold workplace giving campaigns to raise support for local nonprofits who share our mission and for our United Way Projects that bring together these nonprofits to tackle tough issues in our community.
United Way California Capital Region is an independent local affiliate of United Way of America with a local board of directors. We serve most cities in our five-county region.
United Way of America is the national organization dedicated to leading the United Way movement, a network of more than 1,300 locally governed bodies.
Building on more than a century of service as the nation’s preeminent community-based fundraiser, United Way engages the community to identify the underlying causes of the most significant local issues, develops strategies and pulls together financial and human resources to address them, and measures the results. Each local United Way tackles issues based on local needs.
In partnership with 125 corporations and 1,300 local United Ways, the National Corporate Leadership Program (NCL) provides expert advice and resources to strengthen corporate involvement and increase companies' capacity to improve lives and strengthen communities. For more information about the NCL, please contact Charles Guare at the UWCCR office.
