Child Abuse Prevention Council Placer Volunteer Information

We all play a role in building strong communities where individuals, children and families are valued and supported. Volunteering can give your mind, heart and body a jumpstart! Our volunteer program has many different opportunities to get you involved in the community working with children and families.

Every volunteer will receive orientation, training and support to carry out their assigned role.

Literacy Specialists promote a learning environment for children through story time and educational craft activities. Parents and children develop deeper bonds, establishing regular reading habits.

Child Care: Child caregivers are needed for a number of groups held at the Auburn and Roseville Family Resource Centers. If you are interested in helping parents get support and education and you love working with children, we would like to have you as a child care providers. Volunteers for this program must be at least 18 years of age.

Tutor/Mentor: work one-on-one with school-aged children to assist with homework and become a mentor.

Marriage Mentors help other couples grow great marriages. Have you learned things along the way in your marriage? Can you share encouraging stories about what you have learned? Using the 12 Conversations program, mentor couples interact with newlyweds or couples entering a new stage of marriage. This program fosters the growth of couples, not the “repair or counseling” of troubled couples.

One-Time Project volunteers participate in special projects requiring one day or less to complete. Available projects vary on a month-to-month basis.
