Westerly School of Long Beach Charity Profile

Westerly School sees its role as a leading learning institution focused on developing each child’s full potential intellectually, emotionally, morally and physically.

School buildings are sited to resemble a child-scaled village where classrooms, studios and laboratories create a feeling of safety and community. Out-of-doors, there are installed playground equipment, lunch shelters, and an amphitheater large enough to seat the entire student body.

In addition, Westerly is “Sending Down Roots” and building for the future. Westerly’s philosophy calls for encouraging creative and independent thinking, cultivating an appreciation for the arts, and combining academics with experiential, hands-on learning. The new, under-construction Westerly Arts Village helps make that philosophy a reality.

Westerly School of Long Beach Volunteer Information

In addition to relying on donations Westerly relies on generous volunteers. We invite parents to participate in the School life to better understand and support their child’s learning experiences -- perhaps by being involved in the classroom, attending School events, and volunteering at events. Volunteering allows opportunities to get to know other parents, to stay involved with your student’s educational activities, and to support Westerly at the same time.
