Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano Charity Profile
The mission of the Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano is to alleviate hunger and provide an efficient, coordinated system for collecting and distributing food that reduces food waste and increases public awareness regarding hunger and food security issues in Contra Costa and Solano counties.
Vision: Through the activities of the Food Bank and its member agencies, all people in Contra Costa and Solano counties will receive at least one nutritious meal a day.
The Food Bank is a centralized warehouse that stores and distributes donated and purchased perishable and non-perishable food items. We distribute food directly to low-income people at community sites and make food available for other 501 c 3 nonprofit organizations serving the ill, needy and infants. The Food Bank works to reduce food waste, feed hungry people and raise public awareness of issues related to food and hunger.
Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano Volunteer Information
There are many volunteer positions to suit your interest and time availability. You can choose to volunteer in the front office, our warehouse, or in the community. If you belong to a social club, work group or fraternal organization, you can organize a food drive or invite someone from the Food Bank to speak to your group.
