Diaconia Charity Profile

A Diaconia is a non-lucrative, Christian inspired social organisation, which has as its mission: “To contribute in solidarity to the construction of citizenship and the guarantee of human rights for excluded population in the perspective of social transformation, preferentially in the Brazilian Northeastern Region.” The works of the organisation are focused on change through education and the political organisation of the communities, whether urban, rural or ecclesial. The works are carried out by means of the Child and Adolescent Advancement Program (CAAP), the Family Agriculture Aid Program (FAAP) and the Churches Service Activity Aid Program (CSAAP).
The programs directly benefit children, adolescents, young adults and their families in working class communities in the metropolitan regions of Recife/PE and Fortaleza/CE; agricultural families from the micro regions in Upper Pajeú/PE and the Rio Grande do Norte Midwest; and church leaders in the cities of Recife, Natal/RN and Fortaleza.
