Ozark Mountain Basset Rescue Charity Profile
As a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization, Ozark Mountain Basset Rescue (OMBR) is completely dependent on the generosity of others. OMBR does not have paid employees, only volunteers who graciously donate their time to these deserving hounds. OMBR volunteers have jobs, families, and other important commitments. We do Basset rescue because we want to make a difference for those Basset Hounds that are not blessed with good homes. OMBR is dedicated to placing Bassets in our care into loving and dedicated forever homes.
Ozark Mountain Basset Rescue Volunteer Information
There are many reasons OMBR needs transportation volunteers. Although we mainly serve needy bassets in Northwest Arkansas and Eastern Oklahoma, when foster home space allows, we take in bassets from other areas. We could always use somebody willing to pick up/meet/drop-off a hound to a foster family. There are times when foster families need help getting hounds to/from the vet. And sometimes OMBR needs help transporting a hound to his forever family. Please keep in mind OMBR is all volunteers, foster homes and other volunteers have jobs and family commitments just like everyone else.
OMBR requires that all foster homes and adoptive homes have a home visit. We perform home visits to assure dogs and people are adjusting nicely. This is also gives potential foster homes and adoptive families a chance to ask questions. Home visits usually take 30 minutes or less, and OMBR will provide you with a simple form to fill out during the home visit.
OMBR is always in need of supplies. Supplies include: collars, leashes, food bowls, crates (large size), towels, blankets, food, treats, chews, and toys. These items do not have to be new or in perfect condition, just safe and usable.
OMBR always welcomes monetary donations that are used to off set the cost of veterinary care. Monetary donations are 100% tax deductible.
