Arizonans for Children, Inc. Charity Profile
Arizonans for Children, Inc. (AFC) exists to facilitate opportunities and provide effective solutions to improve and stabilize the fragile lives of abused, neglected and abandoned children in child protective custody in Arizona.
Arizonans for Children, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization committed to improving the fragile lives of children and youth in foster care in Maricopa County by providing opportunities to help them break out of the cycle of abuse and poverty. We focus on providing a safe, comfortable and neutral environment specially designated for supervised visitations so that children who are wards of the state can establish and maintain the best possible relationship with non-custodial parents and family. We also work to develop and offer innovative programs which help foster youth improve academic success, develop self esteem and life skills, and make a successful transition to independent adulthood.
Arizonans for Children, Inc. Volunteer Information
Volunteers are the life blood of our organization. At present we have 134 volunteers who operate the three Visitation Centers, make the Life Books, act as tutor /mentors, help with the special events and provide special expertise in the legal, accounting, auditing and construction fields. Since Jan 2011-June 2011 we have had 5819 volunteer hours donated. Since inception in January 2003—Jun 30, 2011 we have had 57,725 volunteer hours donated.

We do not receive government funding. We exist through donations from individuals, corporations and grants from foundations.
