Alliance for the Chronically Ill View Charity Profile

We are a developing voluntary education, support, resource, and advocacy network for those with disabling chronic illnesses that are neglected and misunderstood by society and the medical profession. We are based in Phoenix, AZ, however we will eventually provide services across the country.

Our Mission is to improve the quality of life for those living with disabling, neglected, and misunderstood chronic illnesses through providing compassion and support to sufferers, teaching chronic illness awareness to society, and advocating for the unique needs of the chronically ill. We will achieve this mission through providing support and resources to sufferers of these illnesses, engaging in advocacy on a local and national level, educating society on the reality of living with these illnesses and how to prevent them, and by unifying doctors and organizations dedicated to these misunderstood illnesses.

Alliance for the Chronically Ill Volunteer Information

Assist us with educating community groups and others about various topics related to chronic illness, including the realities of living with chronic disease, caregiving, prevention, coping, etc. Some health background and public speaking experience is preferred.

Assist us with building compassion for chronic illlness by sharing your story to doctors, community groups, and others as part of our patient speaker's bureau. Personal experience as a patient with a misunderstood chronic illness is a must (obviously) as is comfort with and ability to talk to groups.

Assist with putting together a comprehensive directory of chronic illness services, including support groups, organizations, specialists, etc.

Help get the word out about our organization by writing press releases, contacting media, speaking to groups, locating advertising space, fundraising, and marketing.

We are looking for someone to develop various marketing materials to establish our presence as a professional organization. If you're just starting out as a designer or have experience, this will be a great addition to your portfolio.

We are currently seeking assistance with grant writing and non profit development to help this organization achieve 501 c3 non profit status. Also looking for those who can locate strong sources for funding. Grantwriting and non profit development experience necessary.
