Trauma Intervention Programs of Arizona Inc. (TIP) is a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization affiliated with Trauma Intervention Programs, Inc. , a national nonprofit organization. TIP's primary purpose is to ensure that those who are emotionally traumatized receive the support they need immediately following a crisis event and is designed to prevent the secondary victimization that all too often occurs with the loss of life incidents.
The Trauma Intervention Programs of Arizona, Inc. began as the Yavapai Chapter of Trauma Intervention Programs Inc. in 2000. Today, TIP has 50 highly trained and certified individuals that respond to calls by emergency personnel on a 24-hour, 365 day a year basis.
Often, police and firefighters must leave traumatized citizens to fend for themselves. As a result, "abandoned victims" suffer lifelong emotional injuries. Emergency responders are continually frustrated at their inability to help those who are physically uninjured but emotionally traumatized.

Trauma Intervention Programs of Arizona, Inc Volunteer Information

TIP volunteers fill a critical void in theservices being provided by emergency personnel in Yavapai County by allowing for total patient care. TIP volunteers are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 3 shifts per month and are on the scene of a tragedy within twenty minutes of being called. TIP volunteers provide assistance to victims and families within the first few hours of their victimization. They handle the 'emotional first aid' and provide a sense of order to those who require it.
