Arizona Adopt A Greyhound Charity Profile

Arizona Adopt A Greyhound is proud to be one of the nation's largest Greyhound Adoption agencies. We place between 400 and 500 of these gentle creatures into wonderful homes each year. A small dedicated staff and lots of hard working volunteers have made AAGI the successful program it is today.

AAGI works directly with local kennels who know each greyhound individually. They keep us informed when racers are retiring so as soon as they come off the track, we are able to start looking for that special home for them.

Arizona Adopt A Greyhound is pleased and proud to be associated with Phoenix Greyhound Park. PGP's generosity allows us to have a permanent location for both our adoptions and our retail store, as well as a beautiful setting for hosting such activities as our Annual Picnic and Alumni Celebration.

The Arizona Adopt A Greyhound volunteers are, quite literally, what makes the world go around. We are so fortunate to have in Arizona the very BEST volunteers anywhere – not that we are at all biased! And we are always on the lookout for more dedicated folks to help out. We always need foster homes, people with their greyhounds to do PR work at the track, at PetsMart, and at other events, willing hands at the Annual Picnic or Alumni Night, or any number of behind the scenes jobs – or perhaps you have a particular talent that would really help our cause.
