Boxer Luv Rescue Charity Profile
This has been a very exciting year of growth in our rescue. We are the only Boxer rescue operating in Central & Northern Arizona and the need for our rescue is great. We estimate we are on track to end 2008 having saved close to 360 Boxers. This is hard for me to grasp! When I began this rescue in 1998 we found homes for maybe 25 dogs that first year and were exhausted! If I had known the enormity of the task that was to come in the following years, would I have had the courage to continue? I doubt it. Fortunately I was not alone for long- soon others joined me in this rewarding work.
Our rescue evolved steadily, so we had time to get accustomed to the ever increasing numbers of Boxers coming in the door. We got used to getting help, almost miraculously and out of the blue, when we needed it most. We learned to trust that God would provide what we needed to pay for food, boarding, and vet care (including $2,000 surgeries on some poor Boxers) and not worry about it.
One by one we met wonderful Boxer Lovers who wanted to join in us in this mission of saving homeless Boxers in need. And as each individual participated in our work, enjoying it, personally benefiting and being rewarded by it, they shared their excitement with others who also began to volunteer. Many became loyal and steadfast Boxer Luvers, and dedicated volunteers- and with more troops we are able to save more and more Boxers.

Boxer Luv Rescue Volunteer Information
Each year Boxer Luv Rescue takes in and adopts out over 200 homeless, neglected or abandoned Boxers. The needs of each dog vary but most end up needing to be spayed or neutered and need their shots updated - minimum. Many of the dogs that come to us require extensive medical care. Some for physical injuries, valley or tick fever or a host of other ailments. No matter what the dog's needs, Boxer Luv Rescue takes care of them, sparing no cost to help bring the dog back to health so we can find a new, loving home with a well deserving family. It physically would not be possible to rescue, care for and adopt out the number of dogs we do without the tremendous efforts of our volunteers!!
