Court Appointed Special Advocates CASA of Maricopa County Charity Profile
Our mission is to advocate for the best interests of abused and neglected children in court and the community. Maricopa County CASA promotes and supports community-based volunteers, who provide advocacy to help assure each child a safe, permanent, nurturing home.The Court Appointed Special Advocate Fund receives 30 percent of unclaimed state lottery prize money pursuant to A.R.S. §§ 5-518 and 8-524; however, the Maricopa County CASA Program cannot claim any of our funds in the account directly, it must be appropriated annually by the Arizona State Legislature.
Court Appointed Special Advocates CASA of Maricopa County Volunteer Information
A CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) is a concerned, trained volunteer appointed by the court to represent the best interests of an abused or neglected child. A CASA is responsible for researching the facts of the case, recommending a course of action, advocating and monitoring progress toward established goals while the case is under jurisdiction of the court.
