Foothills Community Foundation Charity Profile

The Foothills Community Foundation (FCF) was formed in 1985 at a dining room table somewhere in Carefree, Arizona. Several residents, seeing needs in the community, opened their hearts and checkbooks to address local issues. FCF received 501(c)(3) non-profit status in January 1986. Early projects included water conservation and establishing volunteer-led tutorial programs in the schools. From these initial building blocks emerged an organization with a mission of “enhancing the quality of life in the Desert Foothills Community.”

Over the past twenty-two years, the FCF has grown and prospered and now addresses community needs with twelve programs under our three divisions: Education, Community Service and Culture. A foundation of the community, FCF’s members and volunteers number almost 1,000 persons.

Foothills Community Foundation Volunteer Information

Volunteers are the very backbone of the many Foothills Community Foundation programs. Each of the three divisions (community service, culture and education) need volunteers to keep their programs vital, healthy and growing.
Your contribution of your time is needed, no matter what your skill level or experience. While some volunteers offer career expertise, others do not. While some want to assist in something they are experienced in, others wish to try something altogether new. Age is not a factor. In fact, you will find a volunteer activity for any age in our array of programs.
If you have some time or a desire to give, the Foothills Community Foundation has a program that needs you. From our Foothills Caring Corps which requires volunteers throughout the year, to our Spring Charity Golf Event which occurs annually, our nine programs offer volunteer opportunities for nearly everyone.
