Soil and Water Conservation Society SWCS Arizona Chapter Charity Profile
The Soil and Water Conservation Society (SWCS) is a non-profit, scientific and educational organization of professional conservationist. SWCS serves as an advocate for the conservation professional and for science-based conservation policy. Issues of importance include: Biodiversity, Farmland Protection, Sustainable Agriculture, Water Quality, and Wetlands. Chapters, like the Arizona Chapter, throughout the United States, Canada, and the Caribbean carry out activities at the local, state, and provincial levels and on university campuses. The 75 chapters represent the grassroots backbone of SWCS. Each chapter elects its own officers, creates committees, sponsors conferences, workshops, and numerous other conservation activities and formulates recommendations on local land and water resource issues.As a multi-disciplinary membership organization, we advocate the protection, enhancement, and wise use of soil, water, and related natural resources. Through education and example, we promote an ethic that recognizes the interdependence of people and the environment."
