Fundacion Proteger Charity Profile

Created in Santa Fe, Argentina, the 16 of October of 1991, the Foundation TO PROTECT reunites to environmentalists with more than 20 years of trajectory and an Advisory Scientific Advice of recognized personalities. Two of their founders received Global Prize 500 of United Nations.

ROTEGER is member of the World-wide Union for Naturaleza (UICN), of the Alliance of the Paraguay-Parana System, and the Waterkeeper Alliance among others international coalitions and networks. Members TO PROTECT work in the defense of the rivers, moist soils, the fluvial fishing and the pursuit of megaproyectos from the years.

TO PROTECT participated in the process of the World-wide Commission of Represas (WCD), created at the request of the World Bank and the UICN. Also in the COP7 of the Convention of Ramsar, Costa Rica 1999, in the Ramsar COP8, Valencia 2002 and in the Ramsar COP9, Uganda 2005. From April of 1999 TO PROTECT coordinates the “Project Fluvial Fishing and Moist soils”, initiate with the support of Both ENDS, Holland. In 2003 and 2004 it contributed to the designation of the Ramsar Site Chaco Moist soils.
