Madison - Marshall County Chapter-American Red Cross Charity Profile

The Year 2007 marked the 90th Anniversary of the Madison/Marshall County Chapter American Red Cross serving our community through times of war and peace with disaster assistance, blood collection, safety training, services to the armed forces, local school first aid rooms and countless other community assistance services. From inception, the organization's actions have been guided by its dedication to humanity and a desire to promote mutual understanding, friendship, cooperation and a lasting peace. Today, under the same trusted symbol, we continue to be there during times of disaster through the dedication and self-sacrifice of employees and volunteers, as well as the generosity of the Madison and Marshall County communities.

The Red Cross is there to help people - across the street, across the county and across the world - prevent, prepare for, and respond to life's emergencies. We are a humanitarian organization led by volunteers and guided by our congressional charter and the fundamental principles of the International Red Cross Movement.

The American Red Cross helps people in emergencies every day. Whether its half a million disaster victims or one sick child who needs care in a First Aid Room. Volunteers at the Madison/Marshall County Chapter of the American Red Cross are people from all walks of life who are motivated by a common desire to share their life experiences, education and community spirit in support of those in need. Our volunteers help make it possible for the Red Cross to run smoothly and provide a level of service that could not be achieved without their involvement.

By generously giving of themselves, each volunteer – in his or her own way – contributes significantly to the well-being of friends and neighbors. In return, volunteers at the Red Cross have an opportunity to learn new skills, meet interesting people, make new friends and play a role in the day-to-day operations of an institution that is a recognized leader in humanitarian services.
