Camp Fire USA - Central Alabama Council Charity Profile
Camp Fire USA is one of the nation’s leading not-for-profit youth development organizations, currently serving nearly 750,000 children and youth each year nationally and serving nearly 20,000 children and youth each year in central Alabama. Camp Fire USA, with national headquarters in Kansas City, Mo., provides all-inclusive, coeducational programs in hundreds of communities across the United States. Founded in 1910, Camp Fire USA’s outcome-based programs include youth leadership, self-reliance, club, camping and environmental education, service learning and child care. In addition to these national programs, the Central Alabama Council provides career development, character development and mentoring.
Camp Fire USA helps boys and girls learn – and play – side by side in comfortable, informal settings. Our coed programs allow parents to consolidate schedules for both their daughters and sons. Our trained staff and volunteers, using carefully constructed national and local curricula, lead participants through programs that are enjoyable and beneficial to youth of all ages and that encourage exploration in a safe atmosphere.
